The Davorin Ozich Youth Scholarship has been named in honour of our founding President, Davorin Ozich. Davorin was a long-time campaigner for the youth of our club. Our youth are our biggest asset, and the lifeline of the club continues through them. Our young people are competing on the world stage in these four categories, and it is a wonderful opportunity for our society to support them in their endeavours. We see this as another branch to encourage our youth to connect with their culture and their society.
Each of the annual four scholarships will be to the value of NZD $2500.00 over the four categories. The recipients of the scholarships will be presented at the Croatian Cultural Society’s annual Dan Drzavnosti Celebrations. Recipients have a responsibility to report back to the Executive Committee within 12 months of receiving their scholarship and how the funds assisted them in their endeavours. This will form part of the following years Dan Drzavnosti celebrations. The recipients would be expected to be, and be considered as, youth ambassadors to the society and role models to the younger generations of the club.
